The ski resort of Les Carroz is a beautiful place to visit during the summer. There are effectively two summer seasons, the peak season of July and August, and quieter periods during May and June and September.

In the peak weeks of July and August, Les Carroz is bustling with all shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants open and all leisure activities in full operation. There are various options to choose from including swimming, tennis, horse riding and rambling in resort, hot air ballooning, fishing, biking and golf in the mountains and white-water rafting and canyoning on the rivers in the valley.

Outside of the peak times (see below for lift opening dates), Les Carroz is quieter and the selection of activities more limited. The tranquillity itself is the main attraction, offering a beautiful and peaceful break from life in the city. The Les Carroz telecabine does not open until early July, but the mountains and mountain restaurants can still be accessed on weekends using the chairlifts a short drive away at Morrillon. .

Les Carroz is ideally located for day trips by car. Within a short drive are Lake Annecy, Lake Passy and Lake Geneva, the mountain glacier at Chamonix, the natural spa at St Gervais and the traditional French villages of Samoens and Megeve. For the sporting minded, the Tour de France passes close by Les Carroz July, and the region boasts numerous golf courses that are open throughout the summer.

• Hiking: 200Km of marked trails for all the family.
• Swimming pool: The swimming pool opens on Wednesday 11th June and is a balmy 26C
• Mountain biking and road cycling: More information
• Downhill bikes (BDD):  specially designed bikes with fat wheels and disk brakes. Downhill bikes can be booked by calling 06 63 19 30 51
• Pony trekking: Every Tuesday morning, Bertile’s ponies are in the market place, on other days call 04 50 90 02 50.to book
• Horse riding: The Equestrian Centre in Le Laÿ is open; book a ride on one of Gaëtanne’s 10 horses by calling 06 10 80 05 99.
• Tennis:  Tennis is available at the leisure centre, open to all until 10th June, thereafter court reservation to be made at the swimming pool reception.
• Fitness center: The fitness center is open to everyone
• Rock climbing: Rock climbing in La Frasse.  Bookings on:  04 50 90 06 55 or 04 50 90 07 91
• Golf: The Les Carroz-Flaine Golf Club at the Col de Pierre Carrée is getting the greens ready for mid-June.
• Paragliding: The Ecole de Vol Libre Alain Barnier 04 50 90 01 80, Air Passion 06 85 75 03 81 or Parapente Planète 06 75 79 33 81 can all offer introductory flights or courses.

• Fishing: Stream fishing: permits are on sale at the Mairie in Arâches until the end of May and at the Tourist Office from 1st June onwards.  Mountain lake fishing opens on 14th June (Airon and Vernant lakes).
