Location

Les Carroz is the most easily accessible ski resort for British skiers, located only 50 minutes drive from Geneva airport and train station, and less than two hours from the airports at Lyon and Chambery. Alternatively, the railway station at Cluses (trains from  London Waterloo via Paris) is located in the valley below Les Carroz, only a 15 minute drive from the resort.

Chalet La Falaise is perched on the cliff edge giving our guests wonderful, uninterrupted views across the Arve Valley and the mountains beyond. The village is about a 10-12 minute walk, along a quiet road. The nearest ski lift and piste for direct access to the Grand Massif ski area is about 800m away, whilst the nearest free ski bus stop is 100m away. The closest restaurant and bar is the Croix de Savoie Hotel, just 100m from the chalet.

To maximise the benefits of the location, flameski.com recommends flying to Geneva  and hiring a car from one of the on-site providers. This not only minimises the transfer time to and from the resort but also enables day trips to any of the numerous resorts within an hours drive of Les Carroz.

By following the autoroute, these directions explain the quickest route from the airport to the resort but involves two tolls (totalling less than €4). 

  • Exit Geneva Airport car parking (Swiss side) and follow the signs to FRANCE
  • After 1km turn left at T-Junction, and after 300m take right hand slip road onto A1 Autoroute - all signposted to FRANCE
  • After 10km you reach the Swiss/French border (passport may be required). Immediately on entering France, take the fork onto the A40 motorway marked CHAMONIX MtB, ANNECY-GRENOBLE, TURIN-MILAN (DO NOT FOLLOW SIGNS TO PARIS,LYON).
  • After 30km, exit the A40 at Sortie 19 (CLUSES-CENTRE). Follow signposts for FLAINE/LES CARROZ up the mountain for approximately 10km until you enter the village of LES CARROZ.

  • From the centre of Les Carroz follow the signposts to FLAINE
  • After 1.1km, the road bends very sharply to the left (you will see the chalet to your right)
  • Immediately after the bend, turn right up the driveway
  • Just before the top of the drive, turn right down to CHALET LA FALAISE
