The resort was established in 1936 and is one of the oldest ski resorts in the Alps. It manages to maintain the charm of a traditional and rustic village whilst also providing all the modern amenities necessary to be a successful resort. The village itself is centralised around a picturesque paved square of cafes, restaurants and bars.

• Restaurants - There are numerous restaurants in the village all reasonably priced and offering extensive menus from pizzas to traditional Savoyard dishes.
